Own Solar production for my TAZZARI ZERO

Since 9 days I have my own solar production.

In this 9 days I produced the power for 2300 km to drive with the Tazzari Zero.

My journey to and from work with the TAZZARI ZERO

I use the TAZZARI ZERO for my journey to and from work. The following graphics shows you the very up and down profile:

The maximum climbing rate is for example 1.6 m/s. With a weight of 650 kg the energy for this climbing is  10.2 kW

E =  m*g*h / t = 650 * 9.81 * 1.6 = 10'202.4 W [ kg * (m/s*s) * (m/s)]

The rest of the energy is used for the resistance energy (Air and mechanical) 

The energy consumption (plugged in) for this profiles is:
-4°C 14.5 - 15.5 kWh (with Hating and Light) and on 25°C 12.5 - 13.5 kWh (with Light)

Because the recuperation is working fine I don't need to use the breaks.

Driving range and temperatur

Which factor has the temperature to the driving range of the TAZZARI ZERO?

Important for me is me daily way to/from work. I reached for example on the condition of -14°C in the morning and -6°C in the evening a distance of 81.7 km without charging. After that the charging energy was 11.89 kWh. That gaves a theoretical energy consumption of 14.55 kWh / 100 km.

The next graphic shows you some other points.

How many energy is the battery able to charge in function of the temperature? This is very difficult to say. In the case of the TAZZARI ZERO I think that the energy approximately is for a full charge 15 kWh in the summer. But how much is this in the winter? I should tried this after driving the battery empty, someday I will do this in the winter and then I have the correct result. Perhaps somebody has still do this and can tell me?

TAZZARI ZERO experience since august 2010

On August 2010 I bought a TAZZARI ZERO.
In this blog I will write down my experience with this electric car.

First some technical facts to this Electric Car.
  • Driving Range 140 km are possible. I reached 120 km on normal condition and the battery was still not empty.
  • Energy consumption (plugged in energy). Summertime 12-13 kWh/100km (25°C) wintertime 15-16 kWh/100 km (-15°C)
  • Maximal Speed 100 km/h
  • Battery Life Cycle. The manufacture of the car says 80'000 km. The manufacture of the battery says 300'000 km. I will see.
  • Maintenance. The checklist says. Change the Oil on 5'000 km then on 10'000 and then all 10'000 km
  • Luggage space. There where two places with total 180 L space (In Front and behind)
    It's possible to transport my paraglider.

  • Wintertime, drive with snow. It's possible to drive also in the wintertime.
